Scaredy Cat

Here is some cat picts based on a sketch from my old sketchbook, continuing from yesterday.

This is the original. I liked his expression and bad teeth.

Attempt 2 - lost the emotion in his face, and his body wasn't... funny. so we tried again.

Attempt 3 and Final. Again, his expression wasn't the same as the old, but i thought it was ok. i continued to flesh it out...

I was disappointed with the final outcome. oh well.

Pitty Kitty

My unnamed cat, nicknamed "Pitty Kitty" in a cleaned up and sketch version. He's usually paired up with Alby the dog in comedic situations. Included are some alternate takes below.

Vote 2006

Alright, here is my installment for today --This is a character i developed a few weeks ago as a man with a strange profile. Because of the election tomorrow, i called him "Congressman," but that's really the only reason why.

I had sort of a difficult time figuring out the skeletal features of him at first, so i sketched him out in a skinny version (left). i used this as a basis for the final (right). Afterwards I fig'd this is also the "before" and "after" picts -- before he got elected, then after serving his first year.

Because my original sketches relied on a stark, distinctive profile image, i decided to draw him in front view. It was surprisingly more fun than I thought and definitely had more personality. Upon seeing the images digitally, i see i need to work on the eyes a bit more to get more expressiveness.

Finally, this little doozy was also a study of the man behind the clothes. Perhaps this was a result of the trauma caused from Borat's new movie i saw this weekend. if you saw it, you know what i'm talking about.
